Well Grow general information
What is Well Grow used for?
Well Grow is a topical hair loss serum that can be used treat male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia), to prevent hair loss and induce re-growth of hair in areas where the hair is thinning. It can also help to increase hair density in both men and women. Well Grow contains a combination of natural ingredients that have been found to promote growth of hair follicles as well as slow down the progression of hair loss. Well Grow can also be used to improve the condition of damaged hair by helping to repair hair structure, restore shine and softness, avoid colour fading and offer protection from ultraviolet rays from the sun.
How does Well Grow work?
Well Grow contains Kerarice, an ingredient extracted from rice grain (Oryza sativa) that protects hair from sun damage. Hair can be damaged by exposure to the UV rays from the sun, causing loss of colour and shine, weakening of the hair cuticle as well as damage to the internal structure, leaving the hair dry, brittle and lifeless. Kerarice in Well Grow is rich in phytic acid, which is an antioxidant, protecting hair from damaging UV rays; also amino acids, peptides and polysaccharides that provide precursors for keratin, a fibrous protein that is the key structural protein of hair, which is used to repair and restore damaged hair. Kerarice in Well Grow also helps preserve shine and colour, through restoring tryptophan, an amino acid associated with hair colour and decreasing colour fading. Well Grow also contains an extract of soy sprouts and wheat sprouts, which are rich in antioxidants. Hair goes through a 3-stage growth cycle. The anagen phase, which is the active growth phase, catagen, where the hair stops growing and shrinks, before being shed during the telogen phase, to be replaced by a new hair. Hair loss is due to shrinking hair follicles that gradually produce smaller and thinner hairs, which eventually do not emerge from the follicle. The longer hair follicles are inactive the harder it is for them to respond and begin new growth. In animal model, rice grain extract was shown to induce anagen phase (the active growth phase of hair ) by the induction of growth factors needed to stimulate follicle growth and increases the size of the hair follicle, which prevents hair growth entering the resting phase (telogen) too early1. Well Grow also contains Baicapil, a combination of three plants: Scutellaria baicalensis, which contains baicalin, a flavonoid that has several biological functions, Soy Sprouts (glycine max) and Wheat Sprouts (triticum vulgare). Baicapil has been shown to induce an earlier conversion of hair from telogen to anagen suggesting that baicalin promotes hair growth by regulating the activity of human follicular dermal papilla cells2. Hair follicles are rich in dihydrotestosterone (DHT), converted by the enzyme 5α-reductase from the male hormone testosterone. DHT is primarily responsible for development and growth of the prostate gland but is also responsible for hair loss. Studies in vitro have shown that baicalin blocks the effect of DHT on the human androgen receptor, in human dermal papilla cells, supporting its use for androgen-associated disorders like androgenic alopecia.3

Well Grow for healthy hair
Well Grow contains a combination of natural ingredients that can be used to improve the condition of hair by helping to repair hair structure, restore shine and softness, avoid colour fading and offer protection from ultraviolet rays from the sun. Sun damaged results in loss of colour and shine, weakening of the hair cuticle as well as damage to the internal structure, leaving the hair dry, brittle and lifeless. Kerarice in Well Grow is extracted from rice grain (Oryza sativa) and is rich in phytic acid, which is an antioxidant, protecting hair from damaging UV rays; also amino acids, peptides and polysaccharides that provide precursors for keratin, a fibrous protein that is the key structural protein of hair, which is used to repair and restore damaged hair. Kerarice in Well Grow also helps preserve shine and colour, through restoring tryptophan, an amino acid associated with hair colour, and decreasing colour fading. Well Grow also contains an extract of soy sprouts and wheat sprouts, which are rich in antioxidants. Well Grow protects hair from sun damage by decreasing protein degradation in hair follicles thereby restoring fibre cohesion, protecting the cuticle by decreasing lipid peroxidation and protecting the colour of both natural and dyed hair against UV damage.
