What is Vivitonin used for?
Vivitonin tablets 100mg are a medication for dogs and are used to improve dull and lethargic behaviour and generally to help improve your dogs’s overall demeanour. Vivitonin tablets are also used to treat circulation and breathing problems in older dogs and is particularly helpful in encouraging older dogs to be more willing to exercise as they increase tolerance to exercise so that your dog not is not worn out by a walk.
How does Vivitonin work?
Vivitonin tablets contain the xanthine derivative propentofylline, which is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor and also acts as an adenosine reuptake inhibitor. Both these actions cause vasodilation or relaxing and widening of blood vessels, which increases blood flow, particularly to the heart and skeletal muscle and to the brain; increasing oxygen supply and reducing resistance to blood flow which reduces the workload on the heart. Propentofylline in Vivitonin tablets also has direct effects on the heart and increases the heart rate and the force of muscular contraction of the heart. These actions are particularly helpful for dogs with heart problems. Another action of Propentofylline in Vivitonin tablets is to act as a bronchodilator, which widens the airways and helps increase air flow to the lungs. These actions help your dog by improving circulation and oxygen supply and this will give your dog more energy and help reduce lethargy.
