Kamagra general information

What is Kamagra used for?

Erectile dysfunction, commonly called impotence, is the inability to achieve or maintain a hard erect penis for satisfactory sexual activity.  It is a common problem and affects many men, particularly with increasing age.  Kamagra Chewable Tablets 100mg are used to treat erectile dysfunction in men to resolve impotence due to insufficient blood flow into the penis. 

Erectile dysfunction

When aroused, blood vessels in the penis relax and widen, which increases blood flow into the spongy erectile tissue.  This allows an erection to develop and is the natural response to sexual stimulation.  Any disruption to the normal process can cause erectile dysfunction.

How does Kamagra work?

Kamagra Chewable Tablets 100mg contain sildenafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction or impotence in men.  Sildenafil in Kamagra Chewable tabs 100mg acts on the erectile tissue of the penis to increase blood flow into the penis, which is needed to cause an erection. 

During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released in the erectile tissue of the penis, which activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase.  This enzyme increases levels of a chemical called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which relaxes the blood vessels in the penis and allows blood to fill the spongy erectile tissues to cause an erection.  Another enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) breaks down cGMP preventing blood flow into the penis, which causes loss of an erection.  Sildenafil in Kamagra-100 chewable tabs inhibits the action of PDE5.  This resolves erectile dysfunction by allowing the natural process of sexual stimulation to activate the cGMP mechanism for achieving and maintaining an erection.  Kamagra Chewable tabs 100mg are faster acting than the tablet form as sildenafil is absorbed into the blood more rapidly, being effective within 20-30 minutes and lasting for up to four hours.

What does Kamagra contain?

Kamagra Chewable Tablets 100mg contain the active ingredient sildenafil citrate (100mg), a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.

What are the side effects of Kamagra?

Most medications have some side effects, but they are not experienced by everyone.  Some side effects are commonly experienced when taking Kamagra Chewable Tablets 100mg, but others are not so common, and you should discuss any problems or concerns with your primary care physician. 

Common side effects when taking Kamagra include headache, dizziness, flushing, indigestion, nausea, nasal congestion, visual disturbances, blurred vision, and colour distortion.

When should Kamagra not be used?

Have a talk with your primary healthcare physician before taking Kamagra Chewable Tablets 100mg so that you have a full understanding of what this medicine is for and how to use it.  There are some reasons for not taking a medication; these are called contraindications, and for Kamagra you should consider the following before taking Kamagra:

• Have you ever had an unusual reaction or an allergy when taking Kamagra?
• Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?
• Do you have any problems with your liver?
• Do you have a condition where sexual intercourse inadvisable due to cardiovascular or heart problems or you have had a heart attack or stroke in the last six months?
• Do you have abnormally high or low blood pressure?
• Do you have an eye disease like non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION), which causes loss of vision or if you have retinitis pigmentosa?
• are taking any nitrate medication, such as nitroglycerin for angina, as it may lead to a severe drop in blood pressure?

What medications interact with Kamagra?

Some medicines interact with Kamagra Chewable Tablets 100mg and may affect the way it works, or are affected by Kamagra or increase side effects; you should discuss possible interactions with your primary care physician.  These may include cimetidine for treating ulcers, antibiotics like erythromycin and rifampicin, verapamil or diltiazem for high blood pressure, ritonavir or saquinavir for HIV, itraconazole or ketoconazole for fungal infections, alpha-blockers like doxazosin for high blood pressure.

If other medications may interact with Kamagra, your doctor will discuss these with you. 

How should Kamagra be taken and for how long?

You should take your Kamagra Chewable Tablets 100mg approximately one hour before sexual activity (between 0.5 and 4 hours) and without food.  You should chew a single tab whole before swallowing.  If you have a large meal before taking your Kamagra Chewable tabs it may take longer to work.  Kamagra Chewable tabs are effective within 20-30 minutes and last for four to six hours.  You should take no more than one tablet per day and only if you plan to have sex.

Missed dose of Kamagra

You should only take Kamagra Chewable tabs 100mg when you plan to have sex; it is not intended as a regular medication. 

How should Kamagra be stored?

You should store your Kamagra Chewable tabs 100mg below 25°C in a cool dry place.
